In Their Eyes

In Their Eyes

Lydia Venieri a New York artist who is creating a movement that comments on culture and the circumstances of the political disease of war. The images from her exhibition "War Games" in New York and "See No Evil" in Tokyo,  resemble the iconic and very innocent wide eyed Blythe dolls. However, her interpretation of these new age dolls become voyeurs experiencing a very human encounter of war, allowing the viewer to question the sense of human responsibility.
She says," I focus on the conflict of the two different realities of our world: The painful scenes of the "spectacle" that come to us from the media as appose to the apathy, astonishment and melancholy of the spectators. The dolls symbolize the immune position of the public while their tenderness they captivate feelings, leaving a taste of bitter candy."
